Chlorella and Vitamin C the Antioxidant Vitamin

Why Vitamin C? Man is the only animal on the planet that does not synthesize his own Vitamin C and therefore must ingest enough to maintain good health. There are  four enzymes which convert glucose into ascorbic acid (vit C). Our bodies make the first three but the fourth cannot be made due to human gene damage. Therefore no ascorbic acid. Which means the body does not have naturally the centerpiece of antioxidant-antiradical defense. This is of course why there is so much discussion in this web site and all over the web about antioxidant nutrition supplements and foods.

Without this defense it is said all air breathing life on earth would disappear within a century.

We as humans are very poor  absorbers of Vitamin C. Many people get little or no Vitamin C in their bodies everyday. Many of us have less than 25 micrograms a day that is synthesized.   You see only 11% of us  eat raw fruit directly from trees, fresh vegetables from our garden or fresh raw meat, the best natural occurring sources of Vitamin C.

Almost all of us know that Vitamin C is an antioxidant. It is well advertised. Yet a large part of our society is low in this Vitamin. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) has been shown to be the most effective water soluble antioxidant in humans plasma.

Dr. Robert Cathcart of the Linus Pauling Institute states" that ascorbate is useful in the treatment of almost all diseases. The almost universal benefit is because massive doses of ascorbate neutralize massive amounts of free radicals and mediate all inflammations. Most acute infectious diseases can be cured if the free radicals are eliminated."

The self-regulating capacity of the body is able to correct and break down a lot, but this takes a lot of energy. The body can destroy a lot of free radicals as long as it has Vitamin C and Vitamin E.  Antioxidants are also available in many other fruits especially the berry families.  Together with Chlorella Growth Factor the antioxidants are working for the internal cleansing of the body. Chlorella purifies the blood, it breaks down bad tissue, and it cleans the intestines.

So that leaves supplementation.

I recommend at least 2000 to 3000mg a day of either ascorbic acid or Ester C. Both a fairly inexpensive and can easily be gotten in stores or on the internet everywhere. For those of you who take or want to take as much as Linus Pauling recommended,6-18g C and 3-6 grams Lysine, I recommend powder. Powder is easier, has great absorption and is cheaper. If you are one of those who take mega doses of up to 14,000 when feeling fine and 1000mg per half hour when illness strikes then powder is the only way to fly and Ester C is the type.

There is also available super food supplements which give you a much broader base of nutrition and includes all the antioxidants and all the super greens including chlorella, spirulinia and many grasses and sprouts. If you do not eat the proper amount of fruits and vegetables then this supplement is for you. The Center for Disease Control recognizes this and states” we recommend supplementation for those people who cannot or do not eat enough plant-based food” This complete supplement is called Super Max.
